Five Prone to Fall Trees on Jalan Arteri Pruned

West Jakarta City Park and Forestry Sub-agency pruned five shady trees on Jalan Panjang Arteri, Kelapa Dua Urban Village, Kebon Jeruk Sub-district, West Jakarta, Saturday (1/13). The effort was done to anticipate fallen trees.

The trees were too shady

Sub-agency Head, Romy Sidharta, said those five trees are four mahogany trees and one spanish cherry.

Tree Planting in Central Jakarta Optimized

"The trees were too shady. It can disrupt the Transjakarta bus operation," he said.

According to him, the pruning was done in stages. Not only for preventing fallen trees, the pruning was done since the leaves already blocking the road lamp.

"It is also for the sake of road user safety," he added.

Galuh (49), a workshop owner on Jalan Arteri Panjang, appreciated the personnel's response for pruning the trees.

"We also feel safe especially during heavy rain with strong wind," he admitted.
